UNITE Scholars Program

SUMMER CAMPS 2017

The FAMU AEOP UNITE Program is a summer program for high-school students and is designed to help increase awareness and exposure to careers in engineering and other related-STEM careers; to increase academic preparedness in math-, science-, and computer-literacy for pursuing careers in STEM majors; and to increase the development of technical competencies such as interpersonal skills, teamwork and motivation. The program offers several enrichment components including math building skills, professional development activities, a seminar series, college and career presentations and physical fitness.

ALTERNATIVE ENERGY CAMP (June 5-9, 2017)

The Alternative Energy camp is a 5-day academic camp that introduces rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders to energy and power concepts in clean renewable energy. The focus is on wind technology and solar photovoltaic systems. The cost is $125.

COMPUTER ENGINEERING CAMP (June 12-16, 2017)

The Computer engineering camp is a 5-day academic camp that introduces rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders to concepts in digital logic, micro-controller designs and arduino programming. No prior programming experience required. The cost is $125.

ROBOTICS CAMP (June 19-23, 2017)

The Robotics camp is a 5-day academic camp that introduces rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders to concepts in mechanical design, mathematics, physics, and programming through designing and building robots. Various robot platforms will be introduced. The cost is $125.

CIRCUITS & ELECTRONICS CAMP (June 26-30, 2017)

The Circuits & Electronics camp is a 5-day academic camp that introduces rising 10th, 11th, and 12th graders to some basic principles in Electrical Engineering. Topics include power systems, electronics, digital systems and communication systems. The cost is $125.

All camps are from 8:30am-4:00pm (Monday-Thursday) and 8:30am-noon (Friday).

All camps will be held at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering Building A, 2525 Pottsdamer Street, Tallahassee, Florida.

All camps are day camps.  Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the camp.
